Description
1652 Oak Tree Sixpence, XF40
IN on Reverse, Noe-16, W-360
1652 6PENCE Oak Tree Sixpence, IN on Reverse, XF40 PCGS. Noe-16,
W-360, Salmon 1-A, R.5. Every Oak Tree sixpence die pair is a
rarity regardless of condition, and similarly, any Oak Tree
sixpence graded above VF is a condition rarity regardless of its
die pair. This Noe-16 example is unevenly struck on a wavy,
imperfectly formed flan like many of its fellows. Remaining luster
is evident on each side, filtering through rose, orange, and
steel-blue toning that enriches the eye appeal. Wear is generally
light, marks are few, and this is a desirable piece of
Massachusetts silver in every respect. Listed on page 41 of the
2020 Guide Book.Ex: Central States Signature (Heritage, 4/2011), lot 5001.
