1870 Cent, MS65+ Red and Brown
Shallow N, FS-901
1870 1C Shallow N, FS-901, MS65+ Red and Brown PCGS. CAC.
Although undesignated as such on the PCGS insert, the present Gem
is the Shallow N variety, listed with a premium over its Bold N
counterpart in the 2016 Guide Book. The lustrous peach-red,
olive-green, and lilac surfaces appear void of contact and exhibit
only inconsequential carbon. The strike is bold save for blending
on the leftmost portion of the wreath.Coin Index Numbers: (Variety PCGS# 408018, Base PCGS# 2098, Greysheet# 285625)
