Description

1817 Capped Bust Half, O-109, MS63
Vivid Multicolor Toning

1817 50C O-109, R.2, MS63 PCGS. Richly toned in shades of greenish-gold, lilac, and violet-gray, this well-detailed Select example shows only minor signs of contact. Vibrant mint luster shines through the toning and eye appeal is outstanding. Both the O-108 and O-109 varieties show the O in OF and the C in AMERICA broadly recut on the reverse, but the position of star 13 on the obverse (distant from the curl on O-109) differentiates the two varieties. Population: 21 in 63 (1 in 63+), 21 finer (5/16).
