Description

1929-S Half Dollar, MS66
Only One Higher-Graded Coin at PCGS

1929-S 50C MS66 PCGS Secure. CAC. Ex: Duckor. The 1929-S (1.9 million coins) was largely unsaved. Perhaps the public was more concerned with using these half dollars to purchase whatever goods and services they could during the Great Depression. Thankfully, a small number were preserved in higher grades, like the present Premium Gem. Pale patina appears dappled around the edges, while the interiors are minimally toned. Well-struck with original frosted surfaces. Population: 57 in 66 (1 in 66+), 1 finer. CAC: 34% of submissions for this issue/grade passed. 12 in 66, 2 finer (11/17).
