Description

1874-CC Trade Dollar, Conditionally Rare MS64

1874-CC T$1 MS64 PCGS. The 1874-CC, from a production approaching 1.4 million pieces, is one of the rarest of all Trade dollars in higher Mint State grades (MS64 or better). Indeed, the two major grading services have certified only 33 near-Gems and a paltry seven coins finer. The lustrous surfaces of this offering display soft russet toning on the rims and throughout portions of Liberty's portrait. The design elements are well-struck, including the eagle's legs and claws, elements that are often weak. Scattered light marks determine the grade. Population: 20 in 64 (1 in 64+), 2 finer (4/14).(Registry values: N4719)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2532, PCGS# 7035, Greysheet# 7363)
