Description
1798 $1 Large Eagle, Knob 9, 4 Vertical Lines, B-7, BB-95, R.5, Fine 12 NGC. Bowers Die State II. A scarce Knob 9 variety with four vertical lines per shield stripe. Smoothly worn with lilac-gold highlights over silver-gray surfaces. Faint adjustment marks are minimized by wear across the obverse. Weakly struck at LIBERTY, a characteristic of the BB-95 variety, but less noticeable on this pleasing, yet well-worn representative.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24X6, Variety PCGS# 40015, Base PCGS# 6873, Greysheet# 199090)
