Description

1874 Three Dollar, MS64
Glistening Mint Frost

1874 $3 MS64 PCGS. CAC. While the 1874 claims what would generally be considered a small mintage in the context of U.S. coinage (41,800 pieces), it is one of the more collectible issues in the three dollar series, particularly in high grades. Eye appeal is fantastic for this glistening near-Gem. Frosty yellow-gold surfaces are well-struck with few areas of softness, namely the ribbon bow. Terrific preservation for the grade and a rarity any finer. There are 21 higher-graded submissions at PCGS. CAC: 25 in 64, 6 finer (3/19).
