Description

1916-D Dime, Very Fine
Problem-Free Midgrade Example

1916-D 10C VF20 PCGS. The first year Denver Mint Mercury dime has the lowest mintage of any regular issue in the series, and has always been regarded as key to the series. But most examples circulated for years before a numismatist set it aside. A supermajority of survivors are in Very Good or lower grades. This Very Fine representative displays wear on the cap but the wings show some feather definition, and more than half of the fasces lines are evident. Stone-white devices contrast with lightly toned magenta fields. Detractions are minimal, and the eye appeal is undeniable.
