Description

1873 Trade Dollar, MS64
Rich Original Toning

1873 T$1 MS64 PCGS. Type One Obverse and Reverse. Popular as the first-year issue of the type, the 1873 Trade dollar is also scarce in Choice condition and rare finer. This satiny representative exhibits some of the usual striking softness on the eagle's right (facing) talons and on Liberty's head and surrounding stars, though the definition is otherwise well-executed. Blended copper and olive-gold toning encompasses each side, with the obverse also displaying an area of lavender-blue around Liberty's torso. Population: 49 in 64 (3 in 64+), 15 finer (8/14).(Registry values: N2998)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 252W, PCGS# 7031, Greysheet# 7349)

Weight: 27.22 grams
