Description
1910-S Half Eagle, MS64+
High-End CAC Registry Candidate
1910-S $5 MS64+ PCGS. CAC. MS64 is the grade where the
1910-S Indian half eagle becomes a real challenge for collectors to
acquire, and higher-grade pieces are notoriously rare. This is one
of just six MS64 coins at PCGS with a Plus designation. The last
example we handled in this grade with a Plus designation was in
2017. Moreover, we have not handled a finer example in MS65 since
2020. Such is the rarity of top-quality 1910-S coins. This year's
FUN auction is, indeed, replete with opportunity for advanced
Indian gold collectors.Lovely orange-gold surfaces yield bold design elements and overall minimal abrasions for the grade, with satiny luminance that produces ample visual appeal. Population: 26 in 64 (6 in 64+), 7 finer. CAC: 12 in 64, 1 finer (11/24).(Registry values: N7079)
Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 28DM, PCGS# 8519, Greysheet# 9323)
Weight: 8.36 grams
Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
