Description

1872-CC Eagle, AU53
Winter 1-B

1872-CC $10 AU53 NGC. Winter 1-B, the usual dies. The mintage of the 1872-CC eagles was just 4,600 coins and less than 100 survive today in all grades. NGC has certified one example in MS62, and all other NGC or PCGS certified coins are in grades from VG8 to AU58. Most surviving examples grade XF40 to AU50. Half of all NGC and PCGS grading events fall in the range of grades. This brassy-gold example has the usual quota of minor circulation marks that are expected for the AU53 grade. Traces of luster remain in the protected areas. Census: 9 in 53, 9 finer (11/24).(Registry values: N7079)
