Description

1940-S 5C MS67 Full Steps PCGS. Ex: Steve Strom Collection. The 1940-S Jefferson nickel is elusive in MS67 and unknown finer; Full Steps representatives are rare at this level. The present coin is among the finest certified, a Registry-grade rarity with glistening luster and bold relief elements. Bright, lustrous surfaces appear at the center and blend toward a matte finish near the outer edges. Jefferson has a tiny contact mark on the cheek, and the fields exhibit moderate die polish lines (as made). The steps on Monticello are impressively well-defined. Population: 13 in 67 (1 in 67+), 0 finer (11/15).
