1942 50C PR68 NGC. The Mint discontinued proof offerings after 1942 due to World War II, which makes 1942 the last proof date of the Walking Liberty series. This incredible PR68 example is fully struck and completely brilliant, with remarkable eye appeal. Only a handful of examples have been certified finer. In a circa-2000 holder.Ex: Pittsburgh Signature (Heritage, 10/2011), lot 4048, which realized $2,645.
