Description
1906-D Eagle, MS65
Conditionally Rare in Gem
1906-D $10 MS65 NGC. Yellow-gold and white-gold intersperse
to create stunning surfaces that are also coated with billowing,
satiny cartwheel luster, especially on the reverse. Trivial
abrasions are limited to the portrait. The 1906-D boasts a large
mintage that just misses the million coin mark, but does not quite
reach the level of the most common Liberty Head eagles. Given this
availability, Gem examples are unusually scarce, with very few
finer examples extant. Census: 22 in 65, 4 finer (12/25).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2685, PCGS# 8760, Greysheet# 9537)
