Description
1850 Liberty Head Twenty Dollar, AU53
First-Year Philadelphia Mint Issue
1850 $20 AU53 PCGS. An abundant Philadelphia mintage of
1,170,261 coins were released into commerce in this first year of
circulation strikes for the Liberty Head double eagle gold. Medium
yellow-gold coloration with honey overtones on this lovely piece. A
number of circulation marks, as to be expected on a large gold
coin, are evenly spread across both sides, with none of them
singularly distracting. The strike has some softness in hair curls
as usual, but most design elements have good definition. Frosty
luster glows from recessed areas of the design.(Registry values: N1793)From The Bob Hastings Collection.
