1846-O Ten Dollar, AU55
Important New Orleans Issue
1846-O $10 AU55 NGC. Variety 3. The usual later die state,
with the repunched mintmark feature effaced by die lapping, leaving
only the primary O visible. This Choice AU 1846-O ten displays good
detail and pleasing greenish-gold surfaces. Light surface chatter
is unobtrusive. This issue is rarely offered so fine, and just a
few higher-grade representatives are known. Census: 19 in 55, 7
