1879-S Morgan, MS66 Deep Mirror Prooflike
Captivating Contrast, CAC
1879-S $1 MS66 Deep Prooflike NGC. CAC. Nearly brilliant,
the edges of this exceptional Premium Gem are haloed in light
amber-gold toning that deepens towards the edge and occasionally
fades into sky-blue hues. Rich, frosty luster on razor-sharp
devices create exceptional contrast with deeply reflective fields,
releasing a radiant, energetic cartwheel effect. A few light marks
are noted that define the grade, and a loupe shows some die
striation lines on the reverse fields. NGC shows only three finer
1879-S examples in Deep Prooflike, CAC has endorsed as to quality
for the grade, and this remarkable Morgan is housed in a nostalgic
