A Top 10 Specimen

1807 25C MS63 NGC. B-1, R.2. This early die state specimen has a perfect obverse with a lightly cracked reverse equal to its latest state on previous uses with 1805 B-4 and 1806/5 B-1. The 1807 B-1 quarter is slightly more plentiful than the other variety of the year, and it is the most available Draped Bust quarter variety in Mint State grades with close to 20 different examples documented.
The present specimen, exhibiting reddish-gold and steel-blue toning, ranks among the 10 finest of the variety. The reverse has an untoned brilliant silver area with bright, frosty luster. Minor surface marks are expected at this grade. Census: 11 in 63, 14 finer (3/12), for both 1807 varieties.(Registry values: P5)
