1966 SMS Kennedy Half, MS63
Struck on a Quarter Planchet
1966 SMS Kennedy Half Dollar -- Struck on a Quarter Planchet --
MS63 NGC. 5.7 gm. The usual care and attention paid to Special
Mint Sets must have been diverted when this half dollar was struck
on a quarter planchet. Watery reflectivity persists through dappled
gold-and-gray patina of considerable opacity. Wispy abrasions in
the fields account for the grade.
