1895 Barber Half, PR67 Cameo
Sharp Better-Date Proof
1895 50C PR67 Cameo NGC. CAC. The 1895 had a mintage of just
880 proofs and only about one in every five pieces exhibits a Cameo
finish. The bulk of 1895 proofs fall in the low-to-mid grades, and
PR63 and PR64 specimens are seen with some regularity. At the PR67
Cameo level, however, the issue is seldom seen. This is a deeply
reflective proof striking with sharply contrasting, fully defined
devices. Pale-gold toning makes a brief appearance on each side. A
few delicate lines exist, but otherwise there are no significant
marks or flaws. Census: 15 in 67 Cameo (2 in 67+, 4 in 67★
