1890-CC Twenty, MS61
Variety 1-A
1890-CC $20 MS61 PCGS. Variety 1-A. This piece appears to be
an intermediate die state, prior to reverse die lapping that
removed tail feather detail, but after die wear eliminating the die
doubling visible on early die states. This example ranks near the
top of grades that are typically available in the market place.
PCGS has certified 69 examples in MS62 and only eight in MS63, with
none finer (11/17). Housed in a green-label PCGS holder, this
example is conservatively graded and exhibits outstanding eye
appeal. The surfaces are frosty and fully lustrous with yellow-gold
accented by faint blue and delicate orange overtones.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26BY, PCGS# 9014, Greysheet# 9947)
