Description

1835 Quarter Dollar, B-7
Conditionally Rare MS65

1835 25C MS65 PCGS. B-7, R.2. There is no period following the C in the denomination, and that sole feature instantly identifies the B-7 die marriage. The nearly 2 million-piece mintage is the highest for not just the small diameter series, but all years of Bust quarters from 1796 through 1838. Mint State examples can be had through MS63 with some searching. Near-Gems are scarce and finer pieces are rare.

Both sides of this Gem offering are awash with pleasing luster, and each exhibits sharply struck design elements. Just a hint of soft gold-tan color is visible under magnification. A few minuscule marks are in concert with the designated grade. Housed in a prior generation holder. Population: 2 in 65, 3 finer (11/13).
