Description

1955-S Cent on Dime Planchet

1955-S 1C Lincoln Cent--Struck on a Type One Dime Planchet--VF35 NGC. A softly struck and partly lustrous example that possesses only a hint of gold toning. There is less actual wear than the grade implies, although light marks from circulation are apparent. Struck on a dime blank that never made it through the upset mill. The 1955-S cent is a popular issue, since the San Francisco Mint temporarily stopped coinage that year.
