Description
1787 1C Fugio Cent, New Haven Restrike, Copper--Corroded-ANACS. AU Details, Net VF20. Newman 104-FF. This coin has an unusual appearance, perhaps solder was splattered on the surfaces. The spots of corrosion are light colored, with both silver and gold tones. The piece has little, if any, wear. This is an extreme example of what happens if coins are not stored properly. Some of what may appear to be corrosion on the reverse at first glance, however, is actually just die rust. Listed on page 64 of the 2002 Guide Book. From the David Bruce Collection.
