Description

1916 Cent, PR67+ Red and Brown
Vivid Coloration
The Single Finest at PCGS

1916 1C PR67+ Red and Brown PCGS Secure. The 1909 VDB is the rarest issue in the matte proof Lincoln cent set, although the 1916 closely follows. This issue is the final matte proof struck and boasts the lowest mintage of the eight-year series at 1,050 pieces. Most survivors cluster in the PR64 to PR65 range; Premium Gems are seldom seen, and anything finer is extremely rare regardless of color designation. PCGS reports five coins in PR67 and none finer, including one Brown coin and four Red and Brown representatives; of these, the present offering is the sole Plus-designated example (11/15). Every shred of detail is fully brought up, and the borders are broad and squared. Both sides are beautifully preserved, showcasing a blend of coppery-rose, plum, and steel-blue hues.(Registry values: N4719)
