Description

Exceptional 1794 Head of '93 Cent, AU55 PCGS

1794 1C Head of 1793 AU55 PCGS. S-19B, High R.4. Extraordinarily high quality for this rare type, the surfaces are very pleasing with pronounced reddish-brown coloration. The obverse details are a bit weakly impressed, but the coin shows significant portions of original luster. Slight mint-made porosity is seen around the peripheries on each side, but this has little effect on the overall appeal of this lovely coin. The EAC-based Condition Census listed in the 17th edition of CQR is: 40-30-25-20-15-10-8-7.
Purchased from a coin shop in Peoria, Illinois by Jerry W. Wienzierl, Jr., 2/7/99; Tom Reynolds; Dennis Loring, 3/19/99; Robert C.
