Description
Undated 5C (circa 1975-6) Jefferson Nickel--Struck on a Philippine 1 Sentimo Planchet--MS61 NGC. 1.2 grams. The U.S. Mint struck aluminum rectangular Philippine 1 sentimo pieces in 1975 and 1976. The date of this Jefferson nickel is not present, since the undersized sentimo planchet could not completely fill the dies. Most other design elements are present on this moderately abraded and nearly untoned piece. The left side rim features a knife edge that is partly bent back toward the fields. An Uncertified AU58 1976 Philippine 1 sentimo piece (KM-205) is included, to represent the intended type.Auction Info
