Description

Condition Census S-115 1796 Draped Bust Cent

1796 1C Reverse of 1797 VF35 ANACS. S-115, High R.3. Early Die State. An important coin for early copper specialists, Tom Reynolds ranks this coin as Condition Census #3 for S-115 based on EAC grading standards. A solid Choice VF, both sides are toned in more or less even orange-brown patina with remarkably smooth surfaces for a coin that saw this extensive wear. Well detailed in most areas despite a little unevenness of strike at the left obverse border and in the center of the reverse.
From the Ohio Collection.
