Gem 1849 Closed Wreath Gold Dollar
1849 G$1 Closed Wreath MS65 PCGS. CAC. The 1849 Closed Wreath gold dollars are scarcer than their Open Wreath counterparts, especially in high grade. This lustrous Gem has a sea-green and apricot-gold obverse and an orange-gold reverse. The strike is intricate aside from the central reverse legends opposite the portrait. Population: 15 in 65, 4 finer (2/13).Ex: Houston Signature (Heritage, 12/2010), lot 4239, which realized $5,750.(Registry values: P4)
