Description

1879-CC Silver Dollar, MS64
VAM-3, 'Capped Die'

1879-CC $1 Capped Die, VAM-3, Top 100, MS64 PCGS. A Top 100 Variety, showing numerous small die chips around the mintmark on the reverse and minor doubling of the date numerals. This piece displays vibrant, frosty luster and reveals only a few trivial, scattered abrasions. Slight striking weakness is seen on the eagle's breast and the hair above Liberty's ear. This "Capped Die" variety is seldom available finer.
