1976 National Bicentennial Gold Medal, Median Diameter, Swoger-52IC, PR69 Ultra Cameo NGC. 34 mm. 1.17 troy ounces AGW. Chief Engraver Frank Gasparro is credited with the designs for the National Bicentennial Medal. It was issued in various alloys and diameters, including three sizes of 900 Fine gold. The gold medals were the first available to the public from the U.S. Mint since President Roosevelt's 1933 gold recall. Swoger-52IC is the middle-sized gold medal, and is scarce today in pristine quality. The present virtually immaculate piece displays glassy fields and luminous legends and devices.
