Description

1915-S Indian Half Eagle, MS61
Fifth Lowest Mintage

1915-S $5 MS61 PCGS. The 164,000 half eagles produced in San Francisco in 1915 ranks fifth in the series, and the issue is elusive in all Mint State grades. While an adequate supply of PCGS-certified examples is available in grades from MS60 to MS62, finer MS63 examples are rarely encountered, and anything better is impossible to locate. This olive-gold example has scattered marks as expected for the grade, with a good strike and flat but outlined mintmark.(Registry values: N2998)
