Description
1915-S Half Eagle, MS63
Conditionally Rare
1915-S $5 MS63 PCGS. The San Francisco Mint coined 164,000
half eagles in 1915, a mintage that ranks fifth of 24 issues in the
Indian half eagle series. Demonstrating its condition rarity, the
1915-S ranks seventh in all Mint State grades, and tied for second
rarest of those that grade finer than the present piece. David
Akers observed: "It is not at all easy to find even in MS-60 and
specimens in MS-63 or better are really few and far between."
Housed in a Generation 3.1 green label holder, this sharply
detailed Select Mint State piece exhibits apricot-gold surfaces
with scattered grade-limiting marks. Population: 62 in 63 (1 in
63+), 13 finer (12/24).(Registry values: N4719)From The rhp Collection.
