Description

1883-CC Eagle, AU55
Only 12,000 Coins Minted

1883-CC $10 AU55 NGC. Variety 1-A. Widely spaced mintmark. The Liberty Head eagle series is replete with low-mintage, high-attrition rarities. The 1883-CC is among them with a production of 12,000 coins. Mint condition examples are functionally unobtainable, as only two such pieces are known. Instead, collectors opt for either a Choice AU or near-Mint coin. This orange-gold AU55 survivor features olive accents near the rims and strong definition on each side. Predictably marked with semireflective fields. Census: 34 in 55, 18 finer (7/16).(Registry values: N2998)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2667, PCGS# 8700, Greysheet# 9500)
