Description

1949-S Franklin Half, MS67 Full Bell Lines
Attractively Toned, Lustrous

1949-S 50C MS67 Full Bell Lines NGC. A strike-challenged issue on the best of days, the 1949-S is rare in MS67 with Full Bell Lines and it is equally as scarce with inviting eye appeal. This Superb Gem exceeds expectations on both accounts, with a sharp strike for the issue and the characteristic, salt-and-pepper "mint set toning" that is pleasingly dispersed across the lustrous, silver surfaces. Marks are a non-issue on this exceptional coin, with a few tiny contacts hidden away, visible only with a glass. Neither NGC nor PCGS reports any numerically finer coins. Census: 7 in 67 (1 in 67 Full Bell Lines, 2 in 67+ ).(Registry values: N7079)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24SV, PCGS# 86655, Greysheet# 6825)
