Description
Reverse Brockage on an XF
Bronze Indian Cent
Undated Bronze Indian Cent -- Brockage -- XF40 ANACS. The
"Bold N" reverse hub, which indicates the coin was struck no
earlier than 1870. This chocolate-brown cent has a normal reverse
aside from heavy die cracks at 5 and 8 o'clock. The obverse,
however, is a full brockage of the obverse, incused, reversed, and
moderately expanded. This coin was struck between the reverse die
and a previously struck obverse die cap. Since it is not a perfect
brockage, the die cap had struck at least one other coin prior to
the present piece.
