Description
Finest Graded 1916-S Cent, MS 66 Red NGC
1916-S MS 66 Red NGC. Of the greatest rarity in this grade, this is the only MS 66 Red coin certified by either service to date (5/98). Fully struck, the surfaces are exceptionally bright and lustrous with orange-red color on the obverse and two darker stains in the right field. The reverse is slightly deeper in hue with speckled, variegated color on that side, probably due to the improperly alloyed planchet stock used from 1908-23. A unique opportunity for the Lincoln cent specialist.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22BR, PCGS# 2494, Greysheet# 1843)
Weight: 3.11 grams
