Description

Condition Census 1928-S Half Dollar, MS66 NGC

1928-S 50C MS66 NGC. When offered in Mint State at all, the 1928-S (1.9 million pieces produced) is apt to grade no finer than MS63. An obviously important Gem, this coin is faintly toned on the obverse in dappled russet shades, the reverse is fully brilliant. Both sides are softly frosted in finish with solid luster quality and surface preservation for the assigned grade. The strike is not full over the highpoints, but, then again, there are virtually no '28-S Walkers that display this feature. Population: 4 in 66, 0 finer (4/04). (#6588) (Registry values: N4719)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24RB, PCGS# 6588, Greysheet# 6727)
