Description
Rare Superb Gem 1841-O Half Dime
1841-O H10C MS66 NGC. Even though 815,000 pieces were struck of the 1841-O, it is a rarely encountered issue, especially in high grades. NGC has only certified one other piece in MS66, and we offered that coin in our 1997 ANA Sale. Significant metal flow is seen around the margins on each side, giving the coin a matte-like texture with an overlay of rich, satiny luster. Lightly toned, there are no apparent abrasions, the only ripple in the surface of the coin being a die clash mark of the base below Liberty at the top of the reverse. Population: 2 in 66, 2 finer (1/05).(#4329) (Registry values: N1)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 232Z, PCGS# 4329, Greysheet# 3806)
Weight: 1.34 grams
Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
