Description
Original, Lightly Toned Gem 1928-D Dime With Full Bands
1928-D 10C MS65 Full Bands PCGS. The 1928-D is rated as an R.5 in MS64-65 FB grades, and nice high-grade Uncirculated pieces are seldom seen even without full band definition. David Lange is of the opinion that the numbers of high grade pieces with full band definition that is reflected in the population data is more a reflection of multiple resubmissions of the same coins rather than individual Gems. We would agree, as we do not see anywhere near as many high grade pieces as the certification numbers would indicate. (46 at PCGS and 16 at NGC in MS65). Light, original, pale gray-lilac toning covers each side of this exceptionally clean coin, and soft, frosted mint luster glows over each side.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23HY, PCGS# 4969, Greysheet# 4564)
