1881/0 $5 MS62 PCGS. CAC. FS-301. The base of a prior 0 is clearly evident below the second 1 in the date. A well-struck piece with shimmering luster and light orange-gold and rose toning. Trivial abrasions restrict the grade. The 1881 half eagle had an enormous mintage of 5.7 million pieces and is a common date, but this overdate type is scarce. Population: 17 in 62, 13 finer (3/14).(Registry values: P3)
