Description
Choice AU Overton-102 1795 Two Leaves Half Dollar
1795 50C 2 Leaves AU55 ANACS. O-102, R.5. A scarce variety which has a faint die crack (as made) from the bust tip to the obverse rim at 5 o'clock. The denticles on the reverse between 8 and 9 o'clock are intermittently faint, as is characteristic of the variety. Liberty's portrait is exquisitely rendered, although the obverse stars are generally flat. A few small planchet flaws (as made) are noted in the field below the eagle's head, however, the surfaces are refreshingly free from relevant abrasions.(#6052)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24E7, PCGS# 6052, Greysheet# 6119)
