Description

1915-S Ten Dollar, MS64
Elusive Any Finer

1915-S $10 MS64 PCGS. CAC. The 1915-S ten dollar has the second lowest mintage (59,000 pieces) of all Indian eagles struck at the San Francisco Mint. Most examples are seen through the AU55 grade level. Uncirculated coins through MS62 can be found with patience and searching while Select and near-Gem pieces are scarce. MS65 and finer specimens are highly elusive. PCGS and NGC have graded a little more than 30 coins in MS64 and fewer than 15 pieces finer.

Radiant luster emanates from both sides of this yellow-gold near-Gem and a solid strike leaves excellent definition on the design features, though the eagle's shoulder shows some softness. A few light marks and scuffs are visible, more so on the reverse. All in all, this piece yields pleasing eye appeal. Population: 21 in 64 (1 in 64+), 8 finer (8/13).(Registry values: N7079)
