1957 New York Assay Office Silver Ingot. 48.09 Ounces. This brick of silver weighs in at 48.09 ounces, as indicated on the right side. Ingots from the New York Assay Office are significantly scarcer than the ones usually seen from San Francisco. The top side has the expected circular imprint: ASSAY OFFICE NEW YORK. Some of the eagle's right (facing) wing detail is lost from a gas bubble in that area. The bottom of the top side reads: FINE/999 3/4. The short bottom side has R93 in huge type. The short top side has 49 in much smaller type. The ingot is bright and deeply toned with a bluish cast. It measures 45 x 93 x 30 mm.
