Description

1852 Eagle, MS61
Only Five Finer NGC-Graded Examples

1852 $10 MS61 NGC. CAC. Although the mintage was substantial with 263,106 coins struck, these pieces circulated heavily and as a result the average grade of the surviving population falls in the XF range, with Mint State pieces rarely encountered. Attractive orange-gold color appears on this piece. Numerous surface marks are present, including several on Liberty. Nonetheless, this is a high-grade survivor. Census: 24 in 61, 5 finer (12/12).
