Description
Rare Mint Error 1962 Franklin Half Dollar Struck on Quarter Dollar Planchet
1962 50C Franklin Half Dollar--Struck on a Quarter Planchet--MS63 NGC. 6.2 grams per the NGC label. Wrong planchet errors of any type are rare, and those on half dollars are rarities of the highest degree. Nearly all of old Ben remains visible, except for the very top of his head. The date and mintmark are both completely visible. The surfaces have frosty luster with only a trace of iridescent toning. This is a wonderful example with excellent eye appeal and a high degree of desirability.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24TR, PCGS# 6682, Greysheet# 6816)
