1838 1C MS63 Brown NGC. N-6, R.1. A spike (as made) from the leaf tip below the R in AMERICA attributes the variety, as does a wide space between the 3 and the 8. This specimen displays pleasing semi-glossy light to medium brown surfaces, and the design elements are sharply impressed, except that star centers 1 through 9 are weak. A couple of minute marks on the obverse are mentioned for accuracy. All in all, a very nice eye appealing Large Cent.(#1741) (Registry values: N991)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 225V, PCGS# 1741, Greysheet# 1042)
