Mint State 1889-CC Double Eagle

1889-CC $20 MS60 NGC. This lovely mint state coin survives from a mintage of 30,945 coins, quite a bit below the average mintage of Carson City double eagles. This mint produced 19 different double eagle issues, with a total mintage of 864,128 coins, for an average of 45,480 coins per year. This one has pale yellow gold with darker color on the high points. The fields are very slightly reflective.(#9011) (Registry values: N2998)
