Mint State 1889-CC Double Eagle
1889-CC $20 MS60 NGC. This lovely mint state coin survives from a mintage of 30,945 coins, quite a bit below the average mintage of Carson City double eagles. This mint produced 19 different double eagle issues, with a total mintage of 864,128 coins, for an average of 45,480 coins per year. This one has pale yellow gold with darker color on the high points.
