(1897) Bickford Dollar, HK-837, AU58
(1897) Bickford Dollar, HK-837, AU58 NGC. Aluminum, bronze center. Hibler-Kappen list as "Very rare" in the So-Called Dollars reference (1963). The bust of General U.S. Grant is depressed into the center of the tomb on the obverse, with the left border legend WARRIOR CITIZEN STATESMAN. On the reverse, seven oval links contain the value of the American dollar in France, Austria, Japan, Russia, Germany, England. Both sides of this lightly circulated example display remarkably clean surfaces.Auction Info
