Description
1943 Lincoln Cent Struck on a Silver Dime Planchet
1943 1C Cent--Struck on a Silver Dime Planchet--AU50 PCGS. A spectacular and fascinating mint error. Because a Dime planchet is slightly smaller than a Cent planchet, the upper portions of IN GOD WE TRUST are missing, with other legends slightly blurry and the devices lacking detail at their highest relief. The lightly prooflike surfaces have toned in iridescent violet-gold colors, with cobalt-blue patina in portions of the peripheries. Despite light circulation, there are no abrasions of any significance. If you can't afford a bronze 1943 Cent, this is the next best thing.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22E4, PCGS# 2711, Greysheet# 1977)
Weight: 2.70 grams
